  • Guilford Lands Five on All-ODAC Teams

    Guilford College placed five students on the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) All-ODAC Men's and Women's Tennis squads, league officials announced Wednesday. Junior Will Mason-Deese was named Second Team All-ODAC at first singles and first doubles with classmate Alec Chase. Senior Hilary Routon captured Second Team All-ODAC recognition at fourth singles and the Quakers' Nina Bollag and Liz Killion were so honored at first doubles. Guilford's women claimed the league's Sportsmanship Award.
  • Guilford Ranked in Preseason ODAC Tennis Polls

    Guilford College's men's tennis team was ranked fifth in the preseason Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaches' Poll released Wednesday. The Quakers' women's tennis team earned the number-nine spot in the ODAC's women's preseason poll. The league's head coaches selected both polls.

    A new era for Guilford’s women’s tennis starts in 2009 as the Quakers begin play on the newly constructed McMichael Centennial Class Courts under new head coach Eddie Luck. Luck, who also serves as the Quakers’ men’s tennis coach, succeeded Jenn Anderson ’98 in August 2008 and becomes the sixth women’s coach in Guilford’s 31-season history. He returns a veteran squad that includes five letter winners from last year’s 11-9 team that placed seventh at the 2008 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships.
  • Guilford Hires New Cross Country and Women's Tennis Coaches

    Interim Athletic Director Tom Palombo introduced Heidi Pinkerton as Guilford College's new head men's and women's cross country coach and Eddie Luck as the Quakers' women's tennis coach Friday. Guilford's first female cross country coach, Pinkerton takes over for Jamie LaFollette, who resigned after two years in July. Luck, also Guilford's men's tennis coach, replaces Jenn Anderson '96, who resigned following seven seasons to take a similar job at Bishop McGuinness Catholic (N.C.) High School.
