  • Women's Tennis Receives Four All-ODAC Honorees

    Four members of Guilford College's women's tennis team garnered honorable mention All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) recognition according to a vote of the league's head coaches. Sophomore Megan Fair and senior Krystal Parrish were honored for their singles play, while junior sisters Jami and Lia Williams were recognized for their doubles performance.
  • Guilford Honors Top Student-Athletes at Year-End Ceremony

    Guilford College honored its top student-athletes Sunday night at a year-end ceremony in the Ragan-Brown Field House. Five award winners nominated and selected by the school's athletic department were recognized at the ceremony. Former Guilford volleyball and basketball standout Brenda Goble '94 addressed the group. Goble is the senior woman's administrator and head volleyball coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Ind.
  • Guilford's Golley, Mayton Win Weekly Awards

    Guilford College's Samantha Golley won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week Award and the Quakers' Caitlyn Mayton captured ODAC's Women's Tennis Player of the Week Award Monday, league officials announced. Golley also won the Guilford Student-Athlete of the Week Award, presented weekly by the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The awards cover competition from March 31-April 6.

    Guilford College's men's tennis team was ranked fifth in the preseason Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaches' Poll. The Quakers' women's tennis team earned the number-six spot in the ODAC's women's preseason poll. The league's head coaches selected the polls.

    Guilford's women's tennis team is coming off of its most successful campaign since 1997. The 2006-07 Quakers posted a 12-6 overall record (5-4 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC)), finished sixth in the regular-season league standings and placed seventh at the ODAC Tournament. Guilford has recorded consecutive 10-plus win seasons for the first time since 1998. Six letter winners return from last year's squad.
  • McMichael Gift to Support Scholarship Fund and New Tennis Courts at Guilford

    Dalton L. “Mac” McMichael Jr. and his wife, Susan, have made a gift of over $450,000 to Guilford to support a scholarship fund in memory of Mac’s mother, Dorothy Ragsdale McMichael, and be used toward construction of new tennis courts at the college.
