  • Women's Tennis Falls to Bridgewater in ODAC Quarterfinals

    Guilford College's women's tennis bid for a league title concluded Friday in the quarterfinal round of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament at Washington and Lee University. Third-seeded Bridgewater eliminated the sixth-seeded Quakers from the championship bracket with a 7-2 victory Friday afternoon. Guilford (11-5) reached the quarterfinals with a 9-0 victory over 11th-seeded Randolph-Macon Woman's College (1-13) earlier in the day.
  • Guilford College Trio Honored With Weekly Awards

    Guilford College's Chad Boone and Nika Botkin earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week Awards for baseball and tennis, respectively, Monday. Mary Hutchins captured the Guilford College Student-Athlete of the Week Award, presented by the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
  • Guilford Ranked in Preseason ODAC Tennis Polls

    Guilford College's men's tennis team was ranked sixth in the preseason Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaches' Poll released Thursday. The Quakers' women's tennis team earned the number-seven spot in the ODAC's women's preseason poll. The league's head coaches selected the polls.

    Guilford College's Krystal Parrish received the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week Award Tuesday. The announcement marks the first spring awards of the season and Parrish's first player of the week honor.

    Guilford's women's tennis team is coming off of its most successful campaign since 1998. The 2005-06 Quakers posted a 10-5 overall record oand placed seventh at the ODAC Tournament. Five letter winners return from last year's squad that recorded the Quakers most wins since 1997.
  • Guilford's Routon Earns Academic Tennis Honor

    Guilford College rising sophomore Hilary Routon received 2006 Scholar-Athlete recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Friday. This year's honorees received a varsity tennis letter, maintained a minimum 3.50 grade-point average for the 2005-06 academic year and attended their institutions for at least two semesters. Routon was one of 322 NCAA Division III female student-athletes honored by the ITA.
