GUILFORD COMPETES IN GENERALS INVITATIONAL

LEXINGTON, VA (09/11/04) -- Guilford's cross country teams opened the 2004 season at the Generals Invitational, hosted by Washington and Lee Saturday. The competition marked the Quakers' first women's meet in school history and the first NCAA competition for either team. Guilford added women's cross country and restored men's cross country to its varsity sports offerings this fall.

Men's 8k run

Team standings: Washington and Lee 30, Roanoke 31, Catholic 90, Southern Virginia 131, Guilford 139, Va. Wesleyan 141.
