GUILFORD COMPETES IN GREENSBORO CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

Pleasant Garden, NC (09/25/04) -- Guilford's men's and women's cross country teams had impressive showings at the Greensboro Invitational Saturday.  Freshman Kendra Potter (Wise, VA/John Burton) took 13th place out of 101 for the women and senior Bo White (Salt Lake City, UT/Rowland Hall-St. Mark's) finished 38th out of 122 men's competitors with a time of 29:51. The Greensboro Pacesetters hosted the meet at Hagan Stone Park.

"I'm pleased with the results. All women and five out of six men had personal records, said coach Scott Smith. "I can't really complain."

"It'll be hard to improve next week and I think the last two meets will be where we'll see the most improvement. I'll give them goals to meet for next week which hopefully will keep everyone on a steady track."
