LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Guilford's men's track and field team competed in the second day of the Liberty Open Saturday hosted by Liberty University.
Sophomore Johnathan Smith finished in fourth place (6.92) in the 60-meter dash setting the school record in the process. Smith, the Quakers' first NCAA Division III track All-American, currently holds the top five times in both the 60m dash and 200m dash in Guilford history.
Teammates Josh Farrar and Dylan Skinner also highlighted the Quakers' performance by recording personal bests in the 200-meter dash (23.88) and 1-mile (4:27.35), respectively. Teammate David Cason placed fifth in the mile in 4:27.35, the second-fastest time in school history.
Guilford returns to action February 4 at the at Kent Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill.
