The Guilford men's team competed in 2018 Methodist University Fall Invitational. The invitational had eight teams competing in five flights of doubles action and 12 flights of singles competition. The field was comprised of three NCAA Division II teams and five Division III teams.
Mason Robb placed second in the #1 singles flight; he earned 8-4 and 8-3 victories that carried him into the final. Robb fell to a Division II opponent from Mount Olive University in the final match. Robb paired with sophomore Elijah Gregory in the #1 doubles flight, the duo fell to two Division II opponents before an 8-6 decision in the seventh-place match.
Gregory and freshman Brandon Norman both placed fourth with opening match triumphs of 8-2 and 8-5, respectively. Gregory competed in the #2 singles flight and Norman in the #6 singles flight.
Six out of seven competing Quakers won at least one singles match. The team competed without usual one seed Junior Tate Godwin, who was sidelined by illness.
Coach Dave McCain's Quakers will close their fall schedule this weekend at ITA Regionals.
