GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's men's tennis team posted a 9-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) victory over visiting Randolph College Saturday.
The Quakers (6-8, 5-4 ODAC) opened the match by sweeping the three doubles contests by a combined score of 24-6. The top tandem of Turner Votipka and Erik Meiler claimed an 8-2 triumph over the WildCats' Daniil Lyalko and Doug Corbett, 8-3. The closest doubles match was in the third flight where the Quakers' Levi Bruff and Mason Church pulled out an 8-3 victory over Randolph's Zach Dales and Tuan Tran.
Guilford swept singles play, winning five of the six matches in straight sets. At the number-three flight, Guilford's Trevor Cox needed a 10-6 pro-set victory after splitting the first two sets with Q Manglapus, 6-4, 5-7. Cox, Votipka, Meiler, Church and Aaron Smedley were both two-time victors in the match.
