Virginia Wesleyan Slips Past Guilford, 7-2, in ODAC Men's Tennis

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Host Virginia Wesleyan College scored a 7-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's tennis win against Guilford College Friday.

The Marlins (1-1, 1-1 ODAC) claimed two of three doubles points and five of six singles matches rto deal the Quakers (3-5, 2-2 ODAC) their third straight setback.

Each of the three doubles matches was determined by three or fewer points. Guilford's Levi Bruff and Mason Church scored an 8-6 triumph at third doubles over Drew Tomajczyk and Griffin Graves.

Three of the six singles pairings came down to a third-and-final set. Guilford's Trevox Cox accounted for his team's singles point with a narrow 7-5. 6-4, victory over the Marlins' Tomajczyk.

Coach Dave McCain's team visits Averett University Sunday (3/9) in a nonconference match.
