BRIDGEWATER, Va. (3/20/10) -- Bridgewater College's tennis teams lost just one point in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's and women's victories over visiting Guilford College Saturday.
The Eagles' men (5-2, 3-0 ODAC) won all nine matches in a 9-0 win. With the final team result decided, Bridgewater's Chris Radke scored an 8-6 pro-set win over Guilford's Will Mason-Deese at first singles. Radke and Brad DeWitt claimed a narrow 9-7 triumph at first doubles over the Quakers' Mason-Deese and Alec Chase.
Guilford's men visit Methodist University Sunday (3/21) in a 1:00 p.m. nonconference match.
Bridgewater's women (4-5, 2-2 ODAC) scored an 8-1 win. Megan Mathias defeated Guilford's Mackey Wesner, 6-2, 6-3 at first singles and teamed with Alissa Michael for an 8-2 victory over Guilford's Wesner and Nina Bollag. Bollag downed Olivia Stone, 6-3, 7-5, at second singles for the lone Quakers' point.
Guilford's women return to action Friday (3/26) versus visiting league-rival Sweet Briar College at 3:00 p.m.
