Men's Tennis Drops 7-2 Decision at Methodist

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (3/21/10) -- Host Methodist University scored a 7-2 nonconference men's tennis win over visiting Guilford College Sunday. The Monarchs (7-5) won five of six singles matches, including Matthew Taylor's 6-3, 6-0 win over Will Mason-Deese at first singles.

Taylor teamed with Robert Clayton for an 8-1 first-doubles triumph over the Quakers' Mason-Deese and Alec Chase.

Chase downed Clayton in straight sets in the second-singles match. Mark Cheong and Patrick Childs picked up an 8-5 win at third doubles for Guilford (2-3).

The Quakers host Old Dominion Athletic Conference rival Hampden-Sydney College March 29 at 3:30 p.m.
