  • Dave McCain Named Head Men's & Women's Tennis Coach at Guilford
    June 24, 2010
    Guilford College Athletic Director Tom Palombo tabbed veteran instructor and coach Dave McCain as the Quakers’ new head men’s and women’s tennis coach Thursday. McCain spent the previous five years coaching both tennis teams at neighboring Greensboro College. He also serves as director of tennis at the Precision Golf School and Tennis Academy in Greensboro.

Latimer also received the Guilford College Student-Athlete of the Week Award presented by the school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

    Guilford College's men's tennis team was ranked sixth in the preseason Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaches' Poll released Tuesday. The Quakers' women's tennis team earned the number-eight spot in the ODAC's women's preseason poll. The league's head coaches selected both polls. Washington and Lee University's women received all 11 of the first-place votes in the women's poll and Hampden-Sydney College edged Washington and Lee for first in the men's poll.
