  • Guilford Students Earn All-Conference Men's Tennis Honors

    Guilford College placed four students on the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) All-ODAC Men's Tennis squad, league officials announced Monday. Senior Jose Ortiz, sophomore Alec Chase and sophomore Will Mason-Deese were named Second Team All-ODAC. Senior Caleb Kimbrough received honorable mention recognition. The doubles tandems of Ortiz and Kimbrough and Chase and Mason-Deese received Second Team All-ODAC laurels.
  • Guilford Ranked in Preseason ODAC Tennis Polls

    Guilford College's men's tennis team was ranked fifth in the preseason Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaches' Poll. The Quakers' women's tennis team earned the number-six spot in the ODAC's women's preseason poll. The league's head coaches selected the polls.
  • Men's Tennis Loses, 4-3, at Winston-Salem State

    The Winston-Salem State men's tennis team captured its first victory on Friday afternoon when it edged Guilford College, 4-3, at the WSSU Tennis Complex. The Rams improved to 1-11 on the season, while the Quakers remained winless at 0-2.
  • Men's Tennis Falls to Catawba, 8-1

    Catawba won two doubles then swept six singles matches to claim an 8-1 win over visiting Guilford in men’s tennis action on Thursday afternoon at the Johnson Tennis Center. The Catawba Indians improve to 4-3, while the Quakers fall in their opener.
  • Eddie Luck Named Head Men's Tennis Coach at Guilford

    Guilford College interim Athletic Director Tom Palombo announced the hiring of Eddie Luck as the Quakers' head men's tennis coach Thursday. Luck brings extensive coaching experience to the job, including an 80-34 record in six years as a men's tennis coach and a 136-40 mark in eight seasons as a women's head coach. He replaces Rob Stephens '73, who resigned the position in December.
  • Rob Stephens Named Head Men's Tennis Coach At Guilford College

    Guilford College athletic director Marion Kirby announced the appointment of Rob Stephens '73 as the school's head men's tennis coach Thursday. Stephens replaces Bert Poole, who resigned earlier this summer after helping the Quakers to a 9-7 record in his lone season last spring.
  • McMichael Gift to Support Scholarship Fund and New Tennis Courts at Guilford

    Dalton L. “Mac” McMichael Jr. and his wife, Susan, have made a gift of over $450,000 to Guilford to support a scholarship fund in memory of Mac’s mother, Dorothy Ragsdale McMichael, and be used toward construction of new tennis courts at the college.
