Guilford Tabbed Sixth in ODAC Football Coaches' Poll

Salem, Va. (8/6/10) -- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) head football coaches tabbed Guilford College sixth in the annual preseason poll announced Friday. Defending league champion Hampden-Sydney College earned three-of-seven first-place votes and the poll's top spot. Bridgewater College received two top votes and is three points ahead of third-place Emory & Henry College in the poll. Randolph-Macon College took the final first-place vote and was picked fourth.

Sixth-year Guilford head coach Kevin Kiesel returns 11 starters among 34 letter winners returning from last year's 3-7 club (2-4 ODAC). Redshirt-senior receiver Justin Parker, a 2009 Second Team All-ODAC pick, is the Quakers' top offensive veteran after catching a career-high 55 passes for 493 yards and three touchdowns in his junior season. Guilford also welcomes back offensive lineman Daniel Biggerstaff, the 2009 ODAC Rookie of the Year.  Junior defensive back Kenneth Hyman III, a Second Team All-ODAC selection last year, leads returning defenders.
