GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College senior Corey Wallace collected the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Baseball Player Hitter of the Week Award for his performances in last weekend's series against Virginia Wesleyan College. His outstanding play was recognized at the national level as he was also named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week.
Wallace, a 6-1, 185-pound third baseman, went seven-for-11 with a three homers and 11 runs batted in (RBI) in the Quakers' sweep of ODAC rival Virginia Wesleyan. The 2013 First Team All-ODAC pick started the series off by going three-for-five with one home run, three RBIs, three runs scored, and a stolen base in Guilford's 13-10 victory. Later that afternoon, Wallace smacked two grand slams while also adding two singles and eight RBIs to lead the Quakers to a 15-4 win. He leads the club with 28 hits, six homers, and 28 RBIs. His .444 batting average is the second-highest mark for the Quakers this season.
