Guilford College senior Corey Wallace was named an honorable mention selection to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-American Team Tuesday. He is one of 50 honorees chosen by a panel of Division III sports information directors and media.

A 6-1, 185-pound third baseman, Wallace received First Team All-South honors last spring from the American Baseball Coaches' Association and Second Team All-South recognition from D3baseball.com. He was also a First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) honoree last season. The right-handed-hitter, Wallace led the Quakers with seven home runs. He held the nation's 34th-highest figure with five triples and led the ODAC with a .687 slugging percentage which ranked 22nd in Division III. Guilford's 21st First Team All-ODAC pick, Wallace hit .389 with 31 RBI, 26 runs, and eight doubles.

In his ninth year, head coach Nick Black '02 returns nine starters (5 fielders, 4 pitchers) among 22 letter winners from last year's 20-18 (10-10 ODAC) team. Guilford opened the season last weekend with a pair of losses at Piedmont College.
