The pair hit back-to-back blasts to highlight the Quakers' eight-run fourth inning. Jordan Nelson added a two-run triple in the frame, which saw all eight runs score with two outs in the inning.
Eleven Quakers combined for 15 hits, which eased the burden on Guilford starter Adam Hart, who improved to 3-0 with five innings of four-hit, one-run ball. Guilford's Jason Flud went two-for-two with three RBIs. Nelson and Wooden both finished with two hits and two RBIs.
Wooden's second homer of the day, a two-run blast to left center, gave the Quakers a 2-0 first-inning lead in the nightcap. Starbuck belted a three-run shot with two outs in the fourth to open an 8-1 Guilford edge. D.J. Phillips hit his first college dinger with a solo shot in the sixth inning.
The offensive outburst made a winner out of rookie Will James (1-0) in his first college start. The right-hander yielded just two hits and did not walk a batter in five innings.
Guilford hosts Case Western Reserve Sunday in a noon doubleheader at McBane Field.
