Guilford falls to 3-3 with its second loss in as many games.
The Quakers led, 4-3, after seven innings and starter Matt Spoerlein (Jamestown, NC/Southwest Guilford) pitched effectively into the seventh inning. Guilford pitchers combined for five consecutive walks in the bottom of the seventh inning.
North Carolina Wesleyan's rally made a winner out of junior reliever Hunter Smith (Wendell, NC/East Wake) the third of four Battling Bishops pitchers.
Guilford returns to action Sunday (2/20) against NCAA Division II Bluefield State. The time of the game has been changed from 2:00 p.m. to 12 noon due to the forecast of rain in the Greensboro area.
