  • Joined Guilford's coaching staff in 1951 after a successful coaching tenure at Guilford High School. 
  • Coached the Quakers' men's basketball and tennis teams from 1951-56. 
  •  Took the 1951-52 basketball team to a 10-13 record, 8-8 in the North State Conference, including two wins apiece over perennial rivals Catawba and Appalachian State. 
  • Four players received all-conference honors under Meredith's guidance, including Bob Shoaf '54, the North State Conference's leading scorer in 1953. 
  • During his tenure, the tennis team won the 1956 North State Conference championship and featured two conference champions in Jordan Washburn '59 and Robert Atlas
  • Served as Guilford's assistant physical education director.  A three-sport letter winner and 1942 graduate of Western Carolina, Meredith lives in Greensboro where he owns the Meredith Swimming Pool Company.
