  • Was a standout on Guilford football teams from 1964-1967, including the 1965 team that was 8-2 and set a Quaker all-time win record
  • Blocked a Lenoir-Rhyne goal-line pass in the final seconds to preserve a 21-20 win over the highly-rated Bears (1966)
  • Named to all-conference and all-district teams, and he was the Quakers’ Most Valuable Player and Best Blocker.
  • Head football coach and athletic director at Thomasville High School. Brown’s teams have won 10 conference championships, have twice been state runners-up, and in 1988 were North Carolina state champions.
  • Received conference Coach of the Year 12 times, Davidson County Coach of the Year two times, and has a career coaching record 154-53.
