Guilford to Co-Host 2021 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Guilford College, Visit Winston-Salem and the NCAA are proud to announce the JDL Fast Track has been selected as the host site for the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships March 12-13.

Guilford College and Visit Winston-Salem will serve as co-hosts for the event, which featured over 200 teams in 2016. The news is part of a larger announcement that identified 613 sites for NCAA neutral-site championships from 2019-2022.

Opened in January of 2012, the JDL Fast Track features an eight-lane, 200-meter oval track made of Mondotrack FTX surface, the same surface used at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The venue also boasts two pole vault runways, two long/triple jump runways, one high jump apron and one throws area. Athletes, coaches and officials  also enjoy a 100-meter warm-up track, office and meeting room space, a training room and hospitality suites for coaches' or conference officials' meetings. JDL Fast Track also hosted the Division III Championships in 2015 and the Division II Championships in 2014.

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and host North Central College shared the 2017 Division III men's indoor track and field crown with 34 points apiece. Washington University at St. Louis took home the women's title, its first in school history.

The Quakers have not hosted a prior national track event and Johnathan Smith is Guilford's lone NCAA Championships contestant. He placed second in the in the 60-meter dash at the 2012 Indoor Track and Field Championships at Jacksons Indoor Track in Nampa, Idaho. Smith broke the school and facility record in the 60-meter dash with his qualifying time of 6.76 seconds.

While Winston-Salem hosts the 2021 Division III Indoor Track and Field championships, Guilford's hometown of Greensboro was tabbed for multiple NCAA Division III events.
