Guilford Women Break School Marks at Liberty University Open
LYNCHBURG, Va.---Guilford College's women's indoor track and field team challenged several season-high marks at the Liberty University Open, which wrapped up Saturday. The meet featured NCAA Division I, II, and III schools, including five Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) members.
Jennifer Thomas (30.74 seconds) broke the school record in the 200-meter dash. She challenged her own school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.93, .13 seconds off her record time.
Guilford's 4x400 meter relay team of Rebecca Reyna, Jasmine O'Neill, Rachel Flint, and Pasangi Perera smashed the school standard with a time of 4:43.65 that beat the previous mark by over 11 seconds.
Reyna ran the ODAC's 15th-fastest time of the year in the 800 with a 2:39.71 clocking that ranked 27th in the 29-woman field. She had the ninth-fastest NCAA Division III time and the second-best time in school history.
Malikah French (1:08.88) missed the school record in the 400 meters by .17 seconds. She also neared her top high jump mark of the year, missing by just .02 meters with a leap of 1.40 meters.
Kaylea Trogdon (4.55 meters) missed her own school-best mark in the long jump by just .07 meters.
Guilford returns to action Feb. 1-2 in in the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
