Guilford Falls to Emory & Henry, 6-3, in Women's Tennis

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Despite using only four players visiting Emory & Henry College scored a 6-3 women's tennis win at Guilford College in Sunday's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match. The win marked the Wasps' (7-8, 1-6 ODAC) first in conference play this season.

Lauren Riner and Stella De Michele teamed for an 8-4 win over the Quakers' Madison Giles and Allison Hewitt at first doubles. Di Michele downed Hewitt in first singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Riner topped Nora Prokosch at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-1.

Emory & Henry's second-doubles tandem of Alyssa Wingate and Meredith Yeary defeated Guilford's Fernanda Gonzalez and Mara Stern, 8-2. Wingate was a 6-1, 6-1, winner over Giles at second singles. Yeary posted a 6-1, 6-1, triumph over Gonzalez at third singles.

Coach Dave McCain's Quakers (5-8, 4-5 ODAC) visit league-rival Randolph-Macon College Monday (4/7) in a match rescheduled from March.
