Guilford Wraps Up Fall Women's Campaign at ODAC Individual Tourney

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Guilford College's women's tennis team concluded its fall season by competing in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Individual Women's Tournament Oct. 6-7 at Virginia Wesleyan College. The tournament consisted of seven singles flights and three doubles flights.

Each of the Quakers' three doubles teams made it through their first round matches. Each of the top-six women advanced to the second round and four reached the semifinals, which were washed out by weekend rain that forced the suspension of many semifinal and final matches. Guilford's Dominique Crespo, Kim Kleimeier, Allison Hewitt, and Fernanda Gonzalez all reached the semifinals of their singles brackets. Kleimeier won both of her fourth-singles' matches, tops on the team.

The ODAC Individual Tournament concluded Guilford's fall season, so now the women look forward to the spring campaign when they open against Virginia Wesleyan Feb. 15.
