GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's women's swimming team dropped a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference decisions Friday night in a double-dual meet at Greensboro College with Hollins University. Greensboro claimed a 72-18 win over the Quakers, while Hollins also triumphed over Guilford, 65-28.
Guilford's top finish came from the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Becca Dozier, Kendra Medina, Sydney Hawkins and Morgan McKinnon. The quartet placed second in the race in a time of two minutes, 1.92 seconds, trailing only Greensboro College's A team.
Medina had Guilford's top individual performances with pair of third-place finishes. Her time of 1:11.38 seconds was over two seconds faster than her previous career best and ranks third in school history. Medina was also third in the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:23.93, also a personal best.
Guilford placed third and fourth in the 100 butterfly as Julia Sheehan touched in 1:25.34, a split second ahead of Dozier, who set a new career-best with a time of 1.25.43.
Coach Emily Wilson's Quakers (0-5, 0-5 ODAC) are back in action Saturday at Hollins where they will also swim with Ferrum College in a double-dual meet.
