BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Guilford College's women's swimming team dropped a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference meets Saturday at Bridgewater College. The Quakers (0-2, 0-2 ODAC) fell to the host Eagles, 76-17, and to Greensboro College, 73-17.
Guilford's 200-meter medley relay team had the Quakers' best finish with a second-place time of two minutes, 34.28 seconds. Morgan McKinnon, Sydney Hawkins, Gabby Lahowitch and Emily Carter comprised the runners up.
Kendra Medina turned in Guilford's top individual performance with a third-place time of 1:20.88 in the 100 backstroke, which is a new college career low. She was also the Quakers' top finisher in the 200 freestyle where she placed fourth in 2:39.72. Senior Gabrielle Lahowitch shaved over three seconds off her personal career best with a mark of 1:28.50 in the 100 freestyle.
Coach Emily Wilson's team returns to action next Saturday (11/10) when the Quakers visit Sweet Briar College for a double-dual ODAC meet Emory & Henry College.
