GREENSBORO, N.C.--- Four second-half goals boosted Randolph College to a 5-2 women's soccer victory over Guilford College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.
The WildCats' Samantha Wittie scored the match's first goal in the sixth minute off of a long free kick. After 41 scoreless minutes, Marielle Rando booted a Brittany Hammons pass to give the WildCats a 2-0 lead. The Quakers countered in the 63rd minute when Hannah Schiltz fed Kelli Uresti inside the box to put the Quakers on the board. Minutes later, Uresti fired a long-range shot into the net to tie the game at 2-2.
The WildCats responded quickly in the 74th minute when Hammons gave Randolph a 3-2 lead. The WildCats kept up the pressure in the 76th minute when Ally Ramos scored on a breakaway to make it 4-2. Ramos scored once again in the 88th minute on a high-arching shot to seal the win.
The Quakers outshot the WildCats, 29-10. Abby Gove made four saves in net for the Quakers before being relieved by Miriam Davis-Rosenbaum for the final 22 minutes. Hunter Gibson made 12 saves in goal for the WildCats.
The Quakers return to Appenzeller Field at Armfield Athletic Center Saturday when Guilford hosts Shenandoah University at noon on Senior Day.
