RALEIGH, N.C. – Clara Kienzle and Maddie Shaul both scored and Sydney Holstad made 14 saves in Agnes Scott College's 2-0 soccer win over Guilford College Sunday. The contest was part of the Meredith College Labor Day Classic.

The Scotties (1-1) were outshot, 23-4, but made two of their shots count. Kienzle opened the scoring in the 13th minute with an unassisted tally. Agnes Scott took that 1-0 lead into halftime and doubled it in the 73rd minute when Shaul converted a feed from Claire Cusak for a key insurance goal.

Holstad thwarted Guilford's Sarah Levitt twice in the final 15 minutes to preserve the shutout. She made seven saves in both halves.

Guilford's Cori Karoly had two saves in goal.

The Quakers (0-2) open their home schedule Wednesday (9/5) against visiting Methodist University at 7:00 p.m.
