GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's E'leyna Garcia earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's (ODAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Award Monday.
Garcia, a 5-10 junior attacker, won the league's weekly honor for the second time in three weeks. She helped the Quakers to a 1-1 week with a team-high 14 points on 13 goals and an assist. In the Quakers' 14-12 home setback to Rochester Institute of Technology Feb. 25, Garcia scored four points on three goals and an assists. Three days later, she netted a school-record 10 goals in Guilford's 21-7 road win over crosstown-rival Greensboro College. Garcia broke the former Quakers' standard of nine, which stood since 1993.
Three games into the season, Garcia leads the ODAC in points (22) and goals (19). She also moved into fifth place on Guilford's career scoring list with 166 points and into seventh on the Quakers' career goals chart with 121. She occupies second place on Guilford's career assists list with 45.
