Guilford Picked Fifth in ODAC Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Poll

FOREST, Va. --- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) women's lacrosse coaches picked Guilford College fifth in their annual preseason poll released Tuesday. Defending league champion Washington and Lee University owns the top spot by 13 points over second-place Roanoke College.

Guilford received 58 points in the poll. First-year head coach Sarah Lamphier has 10 letter winners returning from last year's 11-7 club. Among those returning are sophomore midfielder Eleanora Keene and senior goalie Liza Mettler. Keene led the team in draw controls with a school-record 128 and ranked fourth on the team with 27 goals. Mettler registered 186 saves and a 11.88 goals against average for the Quakers. Both students earned First Team All-ODAC honors in 2012. The Quakers, who went 7-2 in league play last year, open the 2013 season Feb. 16 versus the University of the South.
