GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's women's lacrosse team notched the sixth shutout in school history Wednesday with a 12-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over visiting Hollins (1-8, 0-4 ODAC).
The Quakers (7-4, 4-1 ODAC) had seven different students score goals, including Summer Frazier and Becca Colley, who both tallied twice. E'leyna Garcia netted one goal and had two assists for a game-high three points. Guilford led, 11-0, at halftime.
Guilford outshot its guests, 17-5, and Quakers' goalie Liza Mettler recorded three saves for the shutout.
Guilford's last shutout was a 14-0 triumph at Hollins, Apr. 2, 2007.
The Quakers donned blue headbands in support of autism awareness. Luisella Perri McBride '99, whose four-year-old son was diagnosed with the disorder, helped coordinate the promotion, which also included giveaways and announcements about autism.
Coach Matthew Grosso's Quakers are back in action Saturday (4/7) at league-rival Lynchburg College.
