Guilford Stops Bridgewater, 19-9, in ODAC Women's Lacrosse Opener

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – E'leyna Garcia scored four goals and four assists in visiting Guilford College's 19-9 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse victory at Bridgewater College Saturday.

Summer Frazier netted a game-high five goals and Eleanora Keene added three tallies for the Quakers (4-2, 1-0 ODAC). Seven different Quakers found the back of the net. Lily Colley, Frazier and Garcia each tallied twice in the first half as Guilford built a 9-3 halftime lead.

Guilford goalie Liza Mettler made 14 saves in the game, eight in the first half. She also picked up three ground balls and held the Eagles to one-of-seven shooting on free-position shots. Becca Colley, who scored twice, contributed a team-high four ground balls.

Taylor Chamberlain paced the Eagles (3-3, 1-1 ODAC) with seven points on four goals and three assists. Paige Hennessy and Katie Freeman both scored twice and Laura Reynolds had five saves for Bridgewater.

Guilford hosts Sweet Briar College Wednesday (3/21) in a 4:00 p.m. league match.
