Guilford Trio Lands All-ODAC Women's Basketball Honors

SALEM, Va. – Guilford College's Gabby Oglesby earned First Team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) basketball recognition Wednesday at the league's annual awards banquet. Teammates Brittany Atwater and Morgan King won Second Team All-ODAC laurels.

Oglesby, a junior, is Guilford's 11th two-time All-ODAC performer and the fourth to twice garner First-Team All-ODAC recognition. She leads the Quakers in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots (45). Oglesby stands second among ODAC leaders in blocks per game (1.8 bpg.). Her 10.9 points per game average ranks 11th in the conference and her 7.9 boards per outing is seventh. Oglesby has scored 10 or more points in 17 of 25 games this season, with a high of 19 points versus Averett University Nov. 20. She leads Guilford with seven double-double performances. The 2012 ODAC Player of the Year, Oglesby became Guilford's 17th career 1,000-point scorer this year.

Atwater, a senior point guard, handles the ball most of the time for the Quakers and is second in the conference among assist-to-turnover ratio leaders (1.7) and in assists per game (3.9). Atwater leads the team in assists and is fourth in rebounds (5.6). She is scoring 7.2 points per game and has eight games with 10 or more points. Atwater scored a season-high 15 points against ODAC opponents Randolph College and Hollins University Jan. 8 and 15, respectively.

King leads the team in field-goal percentage and her 10.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game stand second on the team to Oglesby. She is fifth among ODAC leaders in blocks per game, eighth in rebounding and field-goal percentage (.443), and 18th in scoring. The junior forward has scored 10 or more points 11 times this season and has four double-doubles. King has tallied 10 or more rebounds seven times and earned the league's Player of the Week Award Jan. 28.

Coach Stephanie Flamini's Quakers have a 21-4 record, their most regular-season wins since 2002. Guilford went 14-2 in the league and secured the number-two seed for this week's ODAC Tournament at the Salem (Va.) Civic Center. The Quakers meet 10th-seeded Randolph-Macon College Thursday (2/21) in a 6:00 p.m. quarterfinal tilt.

Eastern Mennonite College's Kevin Griffin won the ODAC's Coach of the Year Award. Bridgewater College's Jessica Mullen received Player of the Year honors and Randolph-Macon's Katie Anderson was named the league's top rookie. Katy Wilson of Washington and Lee University won the ODAC/Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.
