Guilford Holds Shenandoah to Season-Low 41 Points
GREENSBORO, N.C. --- Jaclyn Nucci paced the Quakers with a team-high 12 points in Guilford's 63-41 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win over Shenandoah University Saturday. The Quakers have won seven of their last eight games.
Guilford (11-3, 5-1 ODAC) never trailed by more than two points. Consecutive layups by Gabby Oglesby with fewer than five minutes to play in the first half put the Quakers up for good. Guilford held Shenandoah to 41 points, their lowest score of the season.
Brittany Atwater added 11 points, a game-high five assists and a team-best three steals. Oglesby had 10 points, four blocks and shared team-high rebounding honors (7) with Morgan King. Rookie Lila Scott went three-for-four from beyond the three-point line to finish with nine points. King and Nucci had two blocks apiece as the Quakers rejected eight Hornets' shots and held the guests to under 25 percent shooting from the floor.
Crystal Petrus led the Hornets (6-9, 2-4 ODAC) with game-highs in points (18) and rebounds (3). Nicole Gilbertson added nine points and Gabrielle Clark blocked four shots.
The Quakers host ODAC-foe Hollins University Tuesday (1/15) in the Ragan-Brown Field House.
