GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford College's women's basketball team is seeded third in the upcoming Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament. The tournament will be played Feb. 23-26 at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va.
The Quakers (19-6) ended the regular season Saturday with a loss to second-seeded Eastern Mennonite University, 68-56. Coach Stephanie Flamini's squad plays a quarterfinal game against #6 Bridgewater College Thursday, Feb. 23 at 8:00 p.m. The Quakers won both contests against the Eagles this season, first by one point in overtime Jan. 13 and more recently, 70-49, Feb. 17. If it wins, Guilford plays Saturday, Feb. 25 against the winner of the Eastern Mennonite and #7 Roanoke College quarterfinal.
Sophomore Gabby Oglesby leads the Quakers in scoring (14.7 ppg.), field-goal percentage (50.9) and blocks per game (2.36). Her 14.7 points per game rank fifth among ODAC leaders and her field-goal percentage (50.9) is third. Oglesby set Guilford's career blocks Friday and her 59 blocks this season lead the league. Senior Jazlyn Gibbs stands second in scoring (13.0 ppg.) and recently scored her 1,000th point in three seasons as a Quaker. She stands second among this season's ODAC leaders in three-point field goal percentage (40.2). Guilford is enjoying its finest season since the 2002-03 campaign when it finished 20-7.
