CHAPEL HILL, N.C.---Guilford College Men's Indoor Track and Field improved on many school and season records at the Kent Taylor Invitational, hosted by the University of North Carolina. Guilford was the lone Division III entrant in a field of Division I participants.
Chad Norton (4:22.42) broke the school record in the mile run by 2.65 seconds. Teammate Andris Goncarovs (4:22.51), came across the finish line neck and neck with Norton, missing the school record by just .09 seconds. David Cason's time of 4:27.76 was good for fifth in school history, but eclipsed the previous season high.
Joshua Farrar ran a season-best 52.68 seconds in the 400 meter run, .57 seconds from the school record.
Matthew McKeown set the season best in the 800 meter run at 2:04.72.
C.J. Green (7.30 seconds) narrowly missed his own season-best time in the 60 meter dash by .02 seconds.
The Quakers now prepare for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships to be held this Friday, February 22nd at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
