Guilford Men Compete in Day One of Hilton Garden Inn Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, NC---Guilford College Men's Indoor Track and Field competed in day one of the two-day Hilton Garden Inn Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, NC.  A largely NCAA Division I field also featured NCAA Division II and III schools from Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Junior C.J. Green (7.38 seconds) narrowly edged teammate Nick Mearite (7.39 seconds) for the best Guilford time in the 60 meter dash.  Mearite's mark was his season-best by .03 seconds.

Senior Josh Farrar (54.15 seconds) led Guilford in the 400 meters, missing his season-best time, but just .34 seconds.

Junior Alex Smith (12.8 meters) placed second in his flight in the triple jump, missing the flight lead by just .2 meters.  Smith's other two jumps (12.78, 12.76 meters) were within .04 meters of his best mark.

Guilford continues action at the JDL Fast Track tomorrow in the final day of the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational.
