GREENSBORO, N.C.-- Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) track and field coaches picked Guilford College's men seventh in their annual preseason indoor track and field poll. Lynchburg College received seven first-place votes and 49 points. Bridgewater College is ranked second in the men's poll.
In hopes of improving their eighth-place preseason ranking, the Quakers will look to key returners such as Chad Norton, David Cason, and Josh Farrar. On Feb. 24 last season, the men's team finished fifth at the ODAC Indoor Championships. Norton knocked off 12 seconds from his previous mark to set a school record and win the 5000-meter race with a time of 15:21.04. Farrar posted a time of 52.28 to finish fourth in the 400 and post the second-fastest time in school history. Cason competed in the mile where he finished fifth overall with a time of 4:28.62, which ranks fourth in school history.
Coach Danny Cash' team opened competition at the JDL College Kick-off Classic on Dec. 1 and will resume competition on Jan. 20 at the Winston-Salam State Open.
