CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Sophomore Johnathan Smith's second place in the 60-meter dash (6.95) highlighted Guilford's men's track and field team day at the Kent Taylor Invitational hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill. The Quakers recorded three top-10 finishes at the open division meet.
Teammates Dylan Skinner and Chad Norton each recorded eighth-place finishes in their individual races. Skinner's time of 4:30.10 in the 1-mile run was the fourth fastest in school history, while Norton's 8:52.67 in the 3000 meter run now stands second all-time just four seconds behind his own school record.
Guilford returns to action February 19 at the Mason-Dixon Games in Newport News, Va.
