HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Host Hampden-Sydney College swept all three doubles points en route to a 6-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's tennis win over Guilford College Friday. The Tigers (2-5, 2-3 ODAC) picked up a pair of three-set singles wins to pull out the win.

The Tigers' David Dodson teamed with Lawrence Bowers for an 8-6 win at second doubles and then knocked off Guilford's Erik Meiler, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3 at second singles. Bowers was also a two-time winner Friday after Guilford's John Brvenik retired due to injury in the third-set tiebreaker at fifth singles. The match's outcome had been determined by that point as Houston Wilson defeated Guilford's Blake Brown, 6-3, 6-2, at sixth singles.

Turner Votipka, Trevor Cox and Mark Cheong logged singles wins for the Quakers (5-5, 3-3 ODAC).

Coach Dave McCain's team hits the courts again April 3 at Methodist University in a contest rescheduled from Feb. 16.
