GREENSBORO, N.C. – Micah Keller scored three goals and Carter Mavromatis added a goal and five assists in Hampden-Sydney College's 15-3 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) lacrosse win at Guilford College Saturday.
The Quakers (6-6, 1-4 ODAC) had the game's first two goals and led, 2-1, after one quarter, but the visiting Tigers rallied to open an 8-2 halftime lead. Hampden-Sydney (6-5, 3-2 ODAC) outscored the hosts, 7-1, in the second half.
Keller scored the Tigers' first goal with 2:10 left in the first quarter and twice in the decisive second quarter. Ryan Martin scored two extra-man goals off Mavromatis feeds late in the period.
Hampden-Sydney's Brad Mostowy won eight-of-12 face-offs and picked up a game-high six ground balls. Freshman David Noftsinger, the second of four Tigers' goalies, made five of the team's nine stops in 13-plus minutes of action.
Guilford's Chase Clausen had a hand in all three Guilford goals with two goals and an assist. Rookie Nick Huckins had a team-high five ground balls and Thomas Deane made nine saves.
The Quakers entertain Greensboro College Wednesday (4/11) night in their home finale at 7:00 p.m.
