NORMAN, Okla. -- Guilford College's men's golf team received 267 points and moved up to eighth in the second edition of the Bushnell/Golfweek NCAA Division III Coaches' Poll. The poll was voted on by members of the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

Huntingdon College topped the rankings after a pair of September victories, at the D3 National Championship Preview and the Gordin Classic. The Hawks received 14 of 20 first-place votes and 485 points overall after opening the season ranked third in Division III. Wittenberg College settled in second with 413 points, followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps with 412 points and five first-place votes. Oglethorpe University and Methodist University ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.

The Quakers, who jumped eight spots in the poll, placed third in the D3 National Championship Preview held in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, September 19-20. Guilford was led by senior Kendall Dunn who shot three-over-par for the tournament, good for a sixth-place individual finish. Freshman Kell Graham finished 20th at eight-over, four shots ahead of Harrison Frye. Through six rounds of play this fall, Dunn leads the Quakers with a 74.5 stroke average. Four members of the Guilford squad have completed six rounds of play, with each member shooting an average of 75.5 or better.

Head coach Justin Tereshko's squad returns to action next week at the Golfweek D3 Invitational in Maramar Beach, Florida, October 9-11.
