DAVIDSON, N.C. – Guilford College's Noah Ratner finished second at the Davidson College Invitational Mar. 4-5 at the River Run Country Club. The finish propelled the Quakers into the seventh-best spot. Guilford was the lone Division III competitor in the 11-team field.
The Quakers shot 614 over the two days on the par-72, 7,208-yard course. Ratner carded a pair of 73s (146), falling to the Davidson's Sam Echikson (73-72-145) by one stroke. Guilford's Drew Thompson and Dallas Page finished 34th and 38th, respectively. Thompson finished with a two-round score of 157, one better than Page. Nick Shedd shot 76-84-160 and Travis Tolbert carded a 87-77-164, rounding out the Quakers' five scores.
Guilford finished 18 strokes behind the host Wildcats, who had four top-10 finishers. Marshall University (600) and Radford University (608) rounded out the top three spots.
The Quakers return to action March 22-24 at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate at the Paradise Point Golf Course.
