GREENSBORO, N.C. (12/1/10) -- Sophomore Travis Tracy scored a career- and game-high 13 points in Guilford College's 64-47 men's basketball victory over visiting North Carolina Wesleyan College Wednesday night.
The Quakers (4-2) held the Battling Bishops (3-4) to 28.3 percent field-goal shooting for the game and forced 20 turnovers, which led to 27 Quakers' points. Guilford converted 10 first-half turnovers into 18 points, which helped the Quakers open a 36-18 halftime lead. North Carolina Wesleyan trimmed the deficit to 11 points with 2:30 remaining, but drew no closer.
Guilford's Josh Pittman finished with 10 points and teammate T.C. Anderson chipped in with eight points. The senior's 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals were all game highs. Senior Martin Stephenson finished with eight points and seven boards.
Junior Matt Dougherty made a game-high three three-pointers on the way to a team-high 12 points. Classmate Domarius Thomas also made three trifectas and finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Guilford opens Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play Saturday (12/4) at Bridgewater College.
